Santa Claus' Main Post Office is touristic destination in Artic Circle, in Santa Claus Village, which is located about 8 kilometres from Rovaniemi to the north. Santa Claus' Main Post Office is the only official Santa Claus´ Post Office and part of the Finnish postal services. In the Santa Claus' Main Post Office postal elves are handling all the letters incoming and outcoming from Santa Claus. In the year there is about half of a million visitors around the world. Every year Santa Claus Main Post Office is visited by over 100 international media. From the year of 1985 Santa Claus’ Main Post Office has received all together over 17 millions letters. Last years Santa Claus has got over 500 000 letters per year from almost 200 different countries. In 2014 Santa Claus received most of the letter from China, Italy and Poland. In Santa Claus' Main Post Office visitors can also explore letters to Santa Claus. From Santa Claus' Main Post Office is possibility to order an official Letter from Santa, which is mailed before Christmas to the receiver. == History == Santa Claus Main Post Office is beautiful building, which is made from natural stone and pine tree. In front of the building locates Elf’s tower as the landmark of Santa Claus Village. The history of the place started in the year of 1950, when spouse of the USA president Eleanor Roosevelt made excursion to Rovaniemi. Because of her visiting was build cottage from where was sent first letter with Artic Circle special stamp in 11.6.1950. Roosevelt’s Cottage locates still in front of the Santa Claus' Main Post Office.
